The boiler is a Woodviking Pelletmaster made by Jaspi in Finland. A pellet  burner is required for this. It is possible to adapt it to use logs and add a solar coil to enable Solar panels without the need for a heat store.

The burner unit is an Ulma 2000. Pellets are dropped into a firing area and ignited with hot air. A steady feed of pellets from the hopper via a screw feed auger system maintains the fire until the required temperature is reached.

Hot water from the main boiler reservoir is circulated through radiators around the house. A copper coil heats mains pressure water for the domestic hot water supply.

The house heating is controlled as before with one master room thermostat and timer controlling the pump that circulates the heating water. Thermostatic valves are fitted to all the radiators to control heat in each room. The boiler is always on and the burner is controlled by the water temperature in the boiler. This is set at 75 Degrees C so there is always a supply of hot water. This also ensures that when the heating is required the heat-up time of the radiators is fast.
