Welcome

The start of a new year and the start of this Blog. I hope that it will be useful to anyone contemplating Biomass heating. It has not all been plain sailing but so far the pros are outweighing the cons. The tabs above give a timeline of what has been happening up until now.

January 2012 - Finished the last of the 2 tons bulk buy early in the month. Bought some pellets from Kippen but part of one of the bags was damp. Consigned them to the making of fireblocks for our wood stove. Bought 1 ton of Puffin Pellets directly from Puffin. A lot cheaper and no damp bags. The only problem was that the distributer sent a massive lorry even although I requested a lorry capable of getting up our drive. Had to cart them all from the bottom of the drive. Easier to store 1 ton though, should last 2 months at current usage.

Cleaned the burner and firing chamber out thoroughly at the beginning of the month. Increased the hot water temperature slightly to improve heat up times. Radiators almost too hot to touch.
